The Adventures of Milky Way

The Adventures of Milky Way: Our Fence-Escaping Bull Calf      Yesterday, as we were leaving, I noticed something unusual – Milky Way, our bull calf, was actually lying in the field with his herd mates. Now, you’re probably thinking, “What’s odd about that?” Well, here’s the thing: Milky Way is usually out roaming the yard, having decided that the grass is greener on our side of the fence, and honestly, I have to agree with him. A Master of Mischief      Milky Way’s escapades have become so frequent that we’ve pretty much given up on putting him back in the pasture. Over the past few weeks, he’s turned our yard into his personal playground. One day, we caught him licking the salt off the truck – apparently, he’s developed a taste for more than just grass. Another time, we found him cozied up next to the stack of hay in the barn, looking as comfortable as can be. Hello World from Tammy & Rich's Funny Farm!

HELLO WORLD!

Welcome to Tammy and Rich’s Funny Farm in Livingston, TN where our menagerie of animals makes everyday anything but normal. Their odd and strange antics keep us on our toes and even add a bit of humor to our days. On our 28 acre farm you will find horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, mini pigs, ducks, chickens, turkeys, guineas, cats, dogs, and a rabbit.

Twenty-five years ago when Rich and I married we had 3 dogs, a cat that didn’t know that it could climb, and a duck that was afraid of water and didn’t know it could fly. Oh if I had only known what that was going to grow into. In the early years when our daughter was young we added a dozen or so chickens, but when we moved to our farm in 2009 animals just seemed to start adding up. Our first stray was a horse which was returned to its rightful owner, but that was the beginning of the oddities of the farm. Most people get a stray dog or cat which we have had too, but horses, goats, and cows are not usual strays. We invite you to join us on this wonderful journey. Through this blog, we'll be sharing the ups and downs, the laughs, and the lessons learned from farm life. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy the ride with us! Looking forward to having you along for the adventures.
